It would be nice to believe that large numbers of followers of this blog are desperately anxious for my welfare: why hasn’t he posted anything for so long ? Is he in a coma ? Has he taken some enormous umbrage ? Has he absconded abroad with the Company funds ?
No. He has damaged his back. Not too seriously, but (at first) very painfully. Now, after a couple of weeks, it seems to be getting better, so long as I don’t bend down too hastily, or get trapped in deep chairs, or carry a bucket full of water. There are some other problems and pressures too, such as demands on time and miscellaneous responsibilities, not very great individually but seeming onerous when they all occur at once. Cumulatively, all this amounts (in my mind anyway) to an excuse.
But accompanying these paragraphs of apology are a couple of pedantic ‘posts’ in the usual pattern.
